Trouble shifting or staying in gear, or strange noises and smells from underneath the car, are all symptoms of issues in your transmission or gearbox, which over time can affect your vehicle’s performance.

We provide a range of services for your vehicle’s manual or automatic transmission, from clutch repairs to gearbox or transmission unit servicing, including a fluid change to keep everything working as smoothly as it should.

Clutch Repairs

All manual transmissions require a properly operating clutch to transfer power between the engine and the transmission. This is done by ensuring any transfer of power is done more steadily and smoothly, minimising the risk of damage to your vehicle’s transmission.

Problems with your vehicle’s clutch can present in a number of ways, from gears grinding or crunching due to the clutch not properly releasing or shuddering as your vehicle’s clutch is released to an unresponsive clutch pedal or clutch slipping.

We can provide comprehensive clutch services, including complete clutch kit replacements or repairs to individual covers or plates, as well as machining of the flywheel.

Replacement Transmissions

Whether your vehicle’s transmission has a more serious problem beyond the scope of typical repairs or servicing, or if you simply need to be back on the road as quickly as possible, our workshop has a range of quality replacement transmissions for all makes and models of vehicle, all rebuilt and repaired in our own workshop.

Differentials

Your vehicle’s differential is responsible for managing the rotation speed of your vehicle’s tyres when going around a turn. When your vehicle turns, the outer wheel needs to rotate at a faster pace than the inside wheel; your differential is responsible for managing that difference in turning speed.

We can check your differential for issues, to ensure that your vehicle stays gripped to the road below when going around corners.

CV Joints

Your vehicle’s CV joints, or constant-velocity joints, transfer power from your drivetrain to your axles, and on to the wheels. Faults here can create unusual noises when driving, as well as difficulty going around corners.

Problems with CV joints are mostly caused by wear and tear with the protective boots that keeps the joint’s grease in and harmful water and other rust-creating agents out. We can provide replacement CV joints and boots, to keep your vehicle in proper working order.
